Welcome to Three Maples, the treasure I share with Tam Lin, our kids and our friends. It is a sanctuary, and a gathering place for members of our extended family.
Rita's border extends down the side, along with the herbs. Even our yard reflects our greatest treasure: friends.
To enter, you pass through an arbor (not pictured) that is framed in Morning Glories and Moon Flowers and bracketed by Hollyhocks given to me by an old Fart.
You are welcome to sit on the porch, listen to the chimes, have a cup of your favorite beverage and shoot the breeze...
Treasures and favorite places:
My favorite online cartoon. "Daily Static" is bookmarked. Expect to spend some time reading the archives.
Can I have two favorites? Well, I do. Check out "Waiting for Bob".
I collect them. Well, I would if I had more "frivolous" money, lol. As it is, I have about eight of these wonderful little treasures. But "Knows All, Sees All" was my first. He goes with me when I read at Psychic Fairs. He sits on my table and welcomes customers.
Meet Willow Cerridwen. She is a special treasure. She is my Fairy Godchild. Tam and I are her Fairy Godmothers.
I was given the special gift of being present at Willow's birth. I will never, as long as I live, forget the experience.
Seeing the Mother Who Birthed Us All and the Father Who Shared the Pain reflected in the faces of Willow's Mommy and Daddy during her birth renewed my connection with Spirit in such a deep way that my life has not been the same since.
In fact, I am now looking into formal training as a Doula, or birth coach. I am soon to be a member of CAPPA (www.childbirthprofessional.com).
This is now part of my ministry. But I'll tell you a secret, it really ministers to me.
Tam designed the artwork. We sat and chatted about things that are important in my life as she designed it. My spirituality is central to who I am, the Morning Glories for beauty, and the cobwebs to acknowledge my acceptance of my shadow self - life is not all love and light.
Pic is of tat at five days - it's still healing!
I asked Tam to retouch my tattoo. The colors in the original weren't bold enough, or completely filled in. The pentagram was flat - Tam's original design had more of a 3-D effect. The crescent moons had yellow, again not filled in and just, well, crappy looking.
I'm MUCH happier with the retouched version.
Tam has jokingly (or maybe NOT jokingly) said that I'm *her* apprentice.
So...being desperate for ink...she put the machine in MY hands :)
This little mouse (sorry for the blurry photo - I'll try to get it replaced with a better one) now sleeps on Tam's ankle.
A beautiful little gypsy butterfly to hover over my morning glories.
